If you like, peel and eat shrimp, the Freezer in Homosassa is the place to go. They have a very limited menu with a few non-seafood entrées, but their seafood is to die for. They do not accept credit cards so make sure you bring cash, but the prices are very, very reasonable. The building is a converted Fish freezer that was used as a warehouse when the fishing boats came in. So the ambience is a little different. You go up to a counter and order your food and pay, and then just go find a place to sit down at and they will bring it to you .

First trip there about a month ago! It was crowded and a no frills place but what a wonderful order of 2.5 lbs shrimp! My husband and I also got the smoked salmon dip. He stood in line but I sat at the bar and when the nice young lady came up I said well my husband Tim is in kine for food, she yelled hey Tim get over here you can order from me if sitting at the bar! The smoked salmon dip was excellent! The shrimp was fresh. I laughed at the sleeve of zesta saltines with our dip ,but loved the dive bar atmosphere, the people were nice and the margaritas were excellent! Just don't expect a fancy restaurant. It's on the water it's warm and fish market looking but great place and does not lack in interesting things to see!

Great food and service!! Highly recommend the shrimp, obviously. Just don't be a yahoo or an idiot and you'll have a great time with the staff; it's really not that difficult.

Great atmosphere. Super prices (deinks and food) and choices. The food was fantastic. Off the beaten path. We will keep this as a go to!

This place was packed on a Saturday lunchtime. Parking lot was full and no tables were available inside our out. Fairly long line to place the food order but it moved quickly. The food and drinks are priced so reasonably. My half shrimp platter was $11 and the pineapple neutral were $3.50! It took a while for the food to come out but we enjoyed the atmosphere and did score a table outside before they brought the food out.

I almost don't even want to review this place because I don't want anyone else to know about this hidden gem. We stopped by on a Sunday morning just as they opened and the place was already packed. When you arrive you order from their limited menu at the counter and seat yourself while waiting for the amazing goodness that is their smoked fish dip, peel and eats, and grilled fish. Inside of a giant freezer on the water with dollar bills covering every surface, this is a dining experience that will stick with everyone!

Unfortunately the power went out so we were not able to get shrimp. We did get the salmon dip which was excellent. It doesn't have a lot of fillers and isn't very fishy.

This is a "Quintessential Florida" dive bar/ restaurant in the best possible way. Waterfront dining with fresh Florida seafood, ice cold beer, and a laid back atmosphere. This cash only establishment can be accessed by boat or road. Portions are huge, prices are reasonable to low. We live an hour away and it was totally worth the drive.
